This is a charitable fund for educational purposes which the European Section established in June 2005 to celebrate its 50th anniversary and to commemorate Philip Dear,  considered by many to be one of the key Founding Fathers of the European Section.

Dr David Glynn officially launched the Fund at the Gala Dinner in Stockholm. The Fund’s capital shall accrue as follows:

  • a grant of €5000 annually will be provided by the Treasurer of the European Section
  • fellows’ contributions from the General Funds will be added as a percentage of the annual dues
  • donations and bequests can be made by any Fellow either in their own name or to remember a loved one.

As the European Section moves  into its second 50 years, it is  hoped that the growth of this Fund will enable European Fellows to share their considerable collective pool of expertise with less fortunate colleagues in Eastern Europe through Exchange Programmes, providing visiting lecturers and possibly establishing bursaries for Post-Graduate students.
